Sunset and Moonrise
Guided Paddle
Friday, October 18
Registration required by 5 PM Wednesday, Oct 16
We'll take to the Mississippi for an 8 mile paddle. We may still have some fall leaves as we watch the sun set and wait for the Full Moon to rise!
Beginners and all types of canoes or kayaks are welcome to join!
This is a guided trip and requires the group to stay together.
One light is required to be secured to each boat. Headlights and glow sticks preferred.
October 18:
We'll meet at 5:00 PM at Fourth Pumping Station park
Fourth Pumping Station info & directions
Shuttle to the put in point.
Launch by 6:00, Sunset is 6:18
Moonrise is 6:54. Finish paddle approximately 8:30.
Hang around for a campfire and smores if you'd like.
Advance reservation is required by calling 319-752-1857
You may bring your own canoe or kayak. Boats must be at least 12 foot to fit our trailer. We also have single kayaks, double kayaks and canoes available for rent.
What to bring: Bug spray, comfortable paddling clothes, water shoes, a warmer layer for evening paddling and a towel or change of clothes (just in case). Alcohol is not permitted while we are on the water. Life jackets are required to be worn.
Camping is available at Fourth Pumping Station park.
Fee for participation is $25 per person which includes guided trip, person and boat shuttle and smores.
