River Basin Canoe & Kayak started when we were looking for top quality gear for our own adventures.  Steve started canoeing as a Boy Scout and enjoyed multiple boundary waters trips.  Steve’s brother guided for Sommers Canoe Base during his college years and introduced both of the other brothers to the best of the lake country. 

Paddles through Ledges State Park during college years got Cherry into the recreation.  We began couples’ trips to BWCA and Quetico when we got married.  Soon, we envied the fast Kevlar canoes that beat us across the lake and sped up those challenging portages.  Following one trip we came back to Burlington with three Wenonah canoes on top of Cherry's Honda.

Since that day we have seen enormous changes in the paddling industry.  We've worked hard to continue to represent top quality gear - emphasizing MADE IN THE USA and helping our customers find gear that helps them enjoy their recreational time.
